How sweet the sound,
so soft and low,
of Mother's song
so long ago.
She swept me up
into her arms,
her fond embrace
both safe and warm.
While gently hushed
next to her breast,
I felt just comfort,
love, and rest.
The house was still
as darkness fell,
as I found sleep
under that peaceful spell.
