Contentment was the shelter found
Within my Dad’s commodious arms,
Within a cozy favorite nook,
Within a new adventure book
Contentment was uncounted hours
In playing dolls with my best friend,
In riding bikes, or camped with a torch,
In family card games on our screened porch.
Contentment was the bonds I formed
Within the town I knew so well,
Within my school--a melded part,
Within a family close at heart.
