Ode to Green Mary Janes

When I saw the beautiful

emerald green Mary Janes,

my heart stopped

for a moment

to savor

their luscious

elegance,

curving heels

smartly turned

like the hips

of a glamorous

movie star,

their classic

tapered toes

topped with

signature T-straps.

 

Glowing green leather,

buttery soft,

evidence

of the richly crafted

elegance

of a fashion world

that had until now

eluded

ordinary me,

those shoes

were a siren call.

 

Irresistible.
