Contentment was the shelter found
Within my Dad’s commodious arms,
Within a cozy favorite nook,
Within a new adventure book
Contentment was uncounted hours
In playing dolls with my best friend,
In riding bikes, or camped with torch,
In family card games on screened porch.
Contentment was the bonds I formed
Within the town I knew so well,
Within my school--a melded part,
Within a family close at heart.
